A Tour of Toronto: Day 1

Where and when: Toronto, Canada, August 2025

I visited Toronto over 2 days in early August. This is a record of that visit.

Our first stop was CN tower, the most recognisable landmark in Toronto. It was built between 1973 and 1976.  The tower is 557 meters tall. There are vieweing platforms at 356 meters and a smaller on at 447 meters. It is also the tallest viewing platform in the Western Hemisphere.

We walked around the town through a many underground pathways connecting the high-rises. Almost all of these had many shops, cafes and eateries on the underground level. I’m sure they would have been buzzing during the week but was very quiet today.

In the afternoon we walked around the South York neighbourhood.
